NewAge sells matching sets of welded cabinets that fill a wall. Gladiator sells a heavy-duty welded line, Premier, and a lighter line you assemble yourself. Here's who each brand suits, with the details below.

Pick NewAge if

You want a whole wall of matching cabinets topped with bamboo or stainless steel.¹²
You want a lifetime warranty on every line. Gladiator's ready-to-assemble line comes with 10 years.³
You want to know how thick the steel is. NewAge lists 18 gauge⁴ for Pro 3.0 and 24 gauge¹ for Bold 3.0. Gladiator doesn't say.

Pick Gladiator if

You want the strongest cabinet on this page. Premier's 84 in. Tall Cabinet is rated for 2,000 lb⁵ in total and 400 lb per shelf.
You'd rather not assemble anything. Premier arrives assembled.⁶
You want cabinets hung off the floor on Gladiator's wall track, using a bracket kit.⁷

Load ratings

The charts compare each line's tall cabinet: NewAge's lockers, Gladiator's 84 in. Tall Cabinet and its Ready-to-Assemble Large GearBox. Two stand out: NewAge's Pro 3.0 locker and Gladiator's 84 in. Tall Cabinet are both rated for at least 300 lb per shelf. Bold 3.0's locker and the Large GearBox are rated for half that or less.

Gladiator's ratings vary more from cabinet to cabinet than NewAge's do. The Premier Tall GearBox, which rolls on casters, is rated for only 50 lb per shelf and 300 lb in total.¹⁰ Check the rating of the exact cabinet you're buying.

Cabinet dimensions

Depth decides whether you can still walk past the car. Pro 3.0's locker and Gladiator's 84 in. cabinet are both 24 in.⁴ deep. Bold 3.0's locker and the Large GearBox are 18 in.¹¹ deep.

Side view, to scale1. NewAge Bold 3.0 72 in. tall¹¹, 18 in. deep¹¹2. NewAge Pro 3.0 80 in. tall⁴, 24 in. deep⁴3. Gladiator Premier 84 in. tall⁷, 24 in. deep⁷4. Gladiator Ready-to-Assemble 72 in. tall³, 18 in. deep³Each cabinet stands against the wall on the left. Grid lines every 12 in.

Height matters if the cabinet goes under a garage door track or opener, so measure that spot before you order. NewAge's listed heights don't include the adjustable legs. With them, Bold 3.0's locker stands 75.25 to 76.75 in. tall and Pro 3.0's stands 83.25 in.¹¹⁴

Assembly and installation

Gladiator Premier arrives assembled, and Gladiator's cabinet page lists casters as included.⁶ The 84 in. cabinet stands on leveling legs instead.⁵
NewAge frames come welded, so there's little to put together.¹ Pro 3.0 adds soft-close hinges and drawer slides.⁴
Gladiator Ready-to-Assemble is the one you put together yourself, and its casters are sold separately.⁶
Anchor them to the wall. NewAge's guide warns that unanchored cabinets can tip over.⁸

Warranties

Both makers' lifetime warranties cover household use only. Neither covers scratches or dents that don't affect how the cabinet works, labor, or commercial use.⁸¹² Gladiator's warranty and NewAge's Pro 3.0 warranty also exclude corrosion.¹²⁹

Either way, you'll need proof of purchase to make a claim. NewAge's guide says to contact NewAge, not the store.⁸

Fine print

Gladiator lists two ratings for its Tall GearLocker. Its product page says it "holds up to 450 lbs".¹³ Its assembly instructions say 300 lb.¹⁰ Plan for 300 lb.
Gladiator's Ready-to-Assemble warranty is unclear. The Jumbo GearBox's page says "10-year limited warranty" but links to the lifetime warranty Premier uses.¹⁴ Ask Gladiator which applies.
Bold 3.0's ratings depend on NewAge worktops. The guide says the ratings apply "only with NewAge worktops installed".⁸
