Husky's welded cabinets and Gladiator's Premier line both arrive assembled. Gladiator also sells a lighter line you put together yourself. Here's who each brand suits, with the details below.

Pick Husky if

You want the simplest warranty claim. Husky's lifetime warranty is a full one: "bring it back and we will replace it for free".¹ Gladiator's warranties are limited.²
You'll load each shelf heavily. Husky's Heavy Duty cabinet is rated for 350 lb³ per shelf. Of the cabinets compared here, only Premier's 84 in. Tall Cabinet is rated higher.
You want to know how thick the steel is. Husky's Regular Duty cabinet is 24 gauge⁴. Gladiator doesn't say.

The charts compare each line's tall cabinet: Husky's two freestanding cabinets, Gladiator's Premier 84 in. Tall Cabinet and its Ready-to-Assemble Large GearBox. Premier's 84 in. cabinet leads on both counts. Both Husky cabinets are rated for more per shelf than the Large GearBox.

Gladiator's ratings vary a lot from cabinet to cabinet. The Premier Tall GearBox and Tall GearLocker are rated for only 50 lb per shelf and 300 lb in total.⁹ Check the rating of the exact cabinet you're buying.

Cabinet dimensions

Husky's Heavy Duty cabinet and Gladiator's 84 in. cabinet are both 24 in.³ deep. Husky's Regular Duty cabinet is 19.6 in.⁴ deep and the Large GearBox is 18 in.⁸ deep, which leaves more room to walk past a parked car.

Assembly and installation

Husky cabinets are welded and arrive assembled.³⁴
Gladiator Premier arrives assembled too, and Gladiator's cabinet page lists casters as included.⁷ The 84 in. cabinet stands on leveling legs instead,⁵ or hangs on Gladiator's wall track with a bracket kit sold separately.⁶
Gladiator Ready-to-Assemble is the one you put together yourself, and its casters are sold separately.⁷

Warranties

Husky's warranty chart gives garage cabinets a lifetime "full warranty". Husky is sold only at Home Depot, and its warranty runs through Home Depot stores.¹

Gladiator Premier's lifetime warranty is limited. It doesn't cover corrosion, scratches or dents that don't affect how the cabinet works, labor, or commercial use.² Gladiator's Ready-to-Assemble pages say "10-year limited warranty".⁸

Fine print

Husky's Heavy Duty listing gives two gauges. Its title says 20 gauge and its description says 24 gauge.³ Ask Home Depot which is right.
Gladiator lists two ratings for its Tall GearLocker. Its product page says it "holds up to 450 lbs".¹⁰ Its assembly instructions say 300 lb.⁹ Plan for 300 lb.
Gladiator's Ready-to-Assemble warranty is unclear. The Jumbo GearBox's page says "10-year limited warranty" but links to the lifetime warranty Premier uses.¹¹ Ask Gladiator which applies.
